Hello! I'm DEAN Xu. While I have many interests and identities, professional background is in STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS — I love being at the intersection of big-picture thinking and daily execution. I have become a person that wears many different hats.

My early career was ANALYTICAL — due diligence, consulting, research — learning to study businesses from the outside. The second half has been about the inside: OPERATIONAL REALITIES, stakeholder management, execution, and what it actually takes to make things happen. I've found both halves useful, and have leaned on the combination across very different ENVIRONMENTS: as a Senior Economist at Grab, the Southeast Asian ride-hailing superapp, and as Chief of Staff at Flowdesk, a fintech building liquidity infrastructure for digital assets.

I live in SINGAPORE — my adopted home. I was born and raised in BERLIN, and went to Cornell and MIT for school in the US, where I worked until I moved to Asia.
